To check, place a piece of string around your neck where you want the necklace to sit, then measure it flat on a ruler. Allow about 5 cm more than your neck size for a comfortable fit. In 5 mm and 6.5 mm, the taller stones make the necklace sit slightly shorter: choose the next length up if in doubt. You can still exchange it within 30 days.

Is moissanite a diamond?

No. Moissanite is a gemstone in its own right, different from diamond: it is silicon carbide, whereas diamond is pure carbon. Discovered in 1893 by the French chemist Henri Moissan in a meteorite, it is now created in a laboratory. It is more refractive than diamond (refractive index of about 2.65 versus 2.42) and disperses about 2.4 times more light into colors, which gives it its very lively rainbow flashes. With a hardness of 9.25 on the Mohs scale (10 for diamond), it is one of the toughest gemstones, ideal for jewelry worn every day.

Does moissanite pass a diamond tester?

Some thermal testers can confuse moissanite with diamond, because both materials conduct heat well. This result proves neither that the stone is a diamond nor that it has any particular quality. An electrical moissanite tester or a laboratory can tell them apart. Our moissanites are always clearly sold as moissanites.

How is it different from a diamond tennis necklace?

To the naked eye, a D-VVS1 moissanite has the white sparkle of a fine diamond, with more fire (colored flashes). It costs much less, does not come from a mine and stands up just as well to everyday wear. On a necklace, which has a hundred stones or more, the price difference with diamonds is considerable.

Is this necklace suitable for men?

Yes. Men most often choose a width of 4 to 6.5 mm and a length of 50 to 60 cm, in a white (rhodium) or yellow gold finish. The length guide above helps you choose according to your build.

Does the necklace tarnish? Can I wear it every day?

Yes, you can wear it every day. The 925 silver is protected by 5 layers of rhodium or by 18k gold plating, which limit oxidation and suit sensitive skin. To keep the plating bright for a long time, follow the care advice above.

Are the moissanites certified?

Yes. Each necklace comes with a GRA certificate stating the D color, VVS1 clarity and cut quality of the moissanites. Depending on the batch, the certificate covers all the stones of the necklace or one reference stone from the batch.
